Offline Web browsers download e-mail, Web pages, and other online content to users' local machines for viewing when users are not connected to the Internet. These software programs can often come in handy for portable devices or for dial-up users or users with slow Internet connections.
An offline browser for downloading entire websites to your local hard disk to be viewed in any browser. Includes fast resume, and powerful filtering options. A web crawler or spider can work its way through a website, downloading pages, pictures, and objects that it finds so that they can be viewed locally, without needing to be connected to the internet. The sites can be saved locally as a fully- browsable website which can be viewed with any browser (such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, etc), or they can be saved into the Internet Explorer cache and viewed using IE's offline mode as if you'd surfed the sites 'by hand'. Ad-supported freeware.

Getleft is a Web-site grabber. Given a URL, it will download a complete site according to the options specified by the user. It changes the original pages and changes all the links to relative links so you can surf on your hard disk.
The program has limited FTP support; it will download files but not recursively. It resumes downloading if interrupted. It filters so as not to download certain kinds of files. You can get a site map before downloading. Getleft can follow links to external sites. It features multilingual support for 14 languages. Version 1.2 is a better-looking user interface, many bugs were fixed, including some that made Getleft miss some links.
This free download tool quickly retrieves all files you need from a given Web site for offline browsing. The interface, available in 13 languages, is somewhat confusing. For example, you have to enter the menu to type in the URL. You can save online time by scheduling and resuming downloads, and by retrieving updates only. To save disk space, you can filter out big files by type or individually on the site map before downloading. The program does its job decently, but its inability to download several files simultaneously may be a major drawback if you want to download an entire site. Therefore, Getleft works best for retrieving small sites or files of one particular type.
Cyotek WebCopy is a free tool for automatically downloading the content of a website onto your local device. WebCopy will scan the specified website and download its content. Links to resources such as style sheets, images, and other pages in the website will automatically be remapped to match the local path. NCollector Studio Lite is an all-in-one offline browser, file ripper and webite copier that enables users to perform various tasks, from searching Google images to copying whole websites for offline viewing. HTTrack is a free offline browser utility. You can download the contents of entire Web sites from the Internet to a local directory for offline viewing. Simply open a page of the mirrored Web site in your browser and browse the site link by link as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack also can update existing mirrored sites and resume interrupted site downloads. The program is fully configurable and includes an integrated help system. It crawls M3U and AAM files and can cache to a ZIP file.
HTTrack Website Copier lets you easily store and view your favorite Web sites offline. Instead of supplying a built-in browser, your stored pages can be quickly viewed in your designated browser.
This freeware program's bland interface is all business. A simple Wizard that leads you through the process of copying Web sites is a welcome touch. Users need only enter a project name, insert the URLs to be copied, and adjust settings as desired, including choosing how many layers of a page the program will pick up. HTTrack Website Copier goes to work very quickly from there, saving the information to a folder. While there is a file tree along the left side of the screen, these folders are more easily accessed through the program's File menu. Saved files open directly in your browser and you can navigate them just like you would the live site.
Less experienced users might not be comfortable with all of the user settings, but will still be able to save offline pages without adjusting anything they don't understand. If you need to refer to certain sites time and time again, this little freeware can make the job easier if you find yourself without Web access.

The interface is plain, but logically constructed with pull-down menus. Unlike so many other Web site downloaders, this one makes it easy to set up your downloads. You can go with the five default options to download the whole site, skip the multimedia files, grab only photos or only the multimedia files, or download only executables. Those basic scenarios will handle the vast majority of your download needs; while additional tweaks make it easy to specify files to download. Additional options let you set a download to shut down the program or your system after completion. Viewing a completed download is easy inside the program or through your favorite browser. This program doesn't change all internal links to their download location, though it does adjust some. Some of the Help file (and the occasional option) appears in Hungarian.
Those who download whole Web sites or select file types will find this freeware easy to learn and operate, and flexible enough to handle most needs.
