The original Core Temp Gadget, brought to you by Core Temp's developer, Arthur Liberman. Monitor your processor temperature, load, frequency, and VID settings with a visual representation via a graph at the bottom of the gadget.
Settings: Adjust the zoom to change the size of the gadget; Show or hide the graphs and text fields; Graphs can display core load or core temperatures; Select colors for the cores; Colors can be selected automatically or manually, a different color per core or a single color for all the cores. By clicking on the resize button (dock/undock in Vista) you can quickly show or hide the graphs.
Uninstalling the gadget: 1. Close all instances of the Gadget. 2. In Vista - Restart Windows or Kill the "sidebar.exe" process by using the Task Manager. In Windows 7 - Right click Desktop, View, uncheck "Show Desktop Gadgets". 3. Start Sidebar again from the Desktop context menu (right click Desktop). 4. Uninstall the Core Temp Gadget.
Core Temp Gadget is a free Windows gadget that displays the temperature and load of your CPU's cores as well as basic information about your processor and platform. To use it, you must have ALCPU's Core Temp installed and running. Core Temp is a small, free application that extracts critical data from sensors and displays it in a compact interface. Core Temp Gadget simply displays data from Core Temp in an unobtrusive desktop gadget.
Core Temp doesn't have to be running to download and install Core Temp Gadget, but the utility must be running to port data to the gadget. Core Temp identified our processor by model, platform, frequency, VID, Revision, CPUID, and Lithography standard as well as number of cores and threads and each core's temperature and load. We minimized Core Temp and turned to the gadget. It displayed our processor data in a compact but colorful view that included the CPU maker's logo. Beneath this were three graph lines coded in different colors--one each for each core's temperature, load, and activity, plus another for RAM use--and at the bottom a moving graph displayed the data. Unusually for a gadget, this one offers quite a few options, including displaying the clock speed in gigahertz, changing colors, enabling items to display, and configuring the graphs. As with all Windows gadgets, we could drag it around wherever we wanted on the desktop and access its settings by right-clicking the desktop and selecting Gadgets.
We're quite familiar with Core Temp, which is a terrific little tool for keeping an eye on your system and a must for overclockers and tweakers. Core Temp Gadget is one of the best little desktop tools we've tried, and one that provides crucial warnings when things aren't working as they should. Even if you don't overclock your system or even peek beneath the hood, it's educational to see what's up with your CPU.
Battery Meter is a gadget that monitors your battery. With this Battery Meter Gadget you can display your Status, Percent Remaining, Time Remaining, Designed Voltage, Current Voltage, Charge Rate, Discharge Rate, Current Charge Capacity, Maximum Charge Capacity, Designed Capacity, Retain Capacity, Manufacture, Device Name, Unique ID, Serial Number, and Chemistry.

Features include 12 and 24HRS format, sound volume adjustable, auto update notifier, adjustable color, and reset to default settings.
Network Meter includes Wireless Network Meter and Wired Network Meter. This gadget will show you SSID, Signal Quality, Internal IP address, External IP address, IP lookup with Google Maps, Speed Test, upload speed, download speed, and Remaining and total of usage and whether your connection is secure or not secure.
Network Meter offers plenty of details about your Internet's performance in an easy-to-install, stylish package. Though it won't tell you everything you might want to know like other desktop tools, it makes most of the details you'd need readily available and is extremely easy to customize. If you want a cool status center for your PC, you probably won't find a better one than this.
This program gives you a desktop widget with internal details about your computer's performance. It will tell you your IP address, whether or not you have a firewall and other security measures in place and even what your download and upload activity is. Since it only worries about your network, it won't tell you details about your memory or storage. You can customize every element of Network Meter's layout, including the color -- which lets you use HTML codes to get the exact color you want. The program will even give you an alert when it detects a sudden problem in your connection or Internet speed.
There isn't much this program won't help you find out when it comes to your Internet connection. It presents all of that info in a stylish, easy-to-read menu that doesn't interfere with your desktop's layout. Network Meter is about as good as it gets for desktop widgets, though you should look elsewhere if you need details about your memory or other internal parts.
8GadgetPack is a small utility with which you can install the original Gadget program files on Windows 8.

GPU Meter displays information on your graphics card, from usage to temperature, as well as clock speed and other useful stats. It installs as a Windows gadget and sits on your desktop. If you want an easy way to see GPU information at a glance, GPU Meter fits the bill.
The gadget installs in seconds and places a very small window in the upper-right corner of your desktop, which you can move anywhere. Initially, GPU Meter's window was too small for us to view, but a tabbed Options menu is easily accessible from a right sidebar menu and you can enlarge the window in the Display tab, which also lets you choose Celsius or Fahrenheit for the temperature display and turn on or off specific stats for PCB Temp, Shader Clock, and more. On the main Options tab, you can set an alert for GPU temperature and opt to play a sound if the temperature goes above a user-defined temperature. The desktop gadget has a black background with each line of information in a different, vibrant color, but you can change this in the Color tab of the Option window, as well. We liked that you could choose a color code or choose from one of seven basic colors by name.
If you're interested in seeing GPU stats at a glance, GPU Meter is a great gadget to download. It's ready to go as soon as you install it, but also allows you some flexibility in what it displays and how it looks. There is a small request at the bottom of the Options window to make a donation, but it never gets in the way and you won't find any other ads, pop-ups, or banners in this free tool.
