It can help you to relax, meditate, hypnotize yourself, and so on.
This self-help application flashes subliminal messages on your computer screen, though you may find them more of a distraction than anything else. Subliminal Message Flash's straightforward interface offers 33 categories including self-esteem, prosperity, and better skin. You can set the location, frequency, and font for your selected messages, which will only display when the program is open but will display over any application.
Despite the program's name, even at the lowest setting the message is visible to the eye. Among the 33 self-help areas are stress reduction, smoking cessation, dieting, and pain management. Messages are positive affirmations such as "I am succeeding" and "I am full of energy." With the stingy two-use trial version, you probably won't be able to measure the program's effectiveness in removing facial wrinkles, increasing driving skills, or achieving any of the other self-help goals. However, this simple program is easy enough for any user.

Subliminal Mind is a powerful software tool that allows you to harness the proven power of subliminal messages on your PC. Subliminal messages function just below the threshold of conscious perception influencing the subconscious part of your mind. They are so effective at doing this that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has placed restrictions on using subliminal messages in advertising. Subliminal Mind lets you use this power for your own purposes to reprogram your mind at the subconscious level while your conscious mind works on other tasks, i.e browsing, working or playing games. Since the way we think effects all areas of our lives subliminal messages can be used for many purposes e.g. therapy, life enhancement, personal development, reinforcement of key study concepts and so on. To receive the full benefits of subliminal messages we recommend that you use it on a regular basis.
This simple application flashes extremely short, subliminal messages while you are browsing, working, or playing games. The authors promise it will help you reprogram your mind at the subconscious level to cope with psychological problems. Messages are arranged by topics such as happiness and pain, or you can add your own. The program comes with prewritten messages for common afflictions like emotional pain, fear, anxiety, illness, motivation, smoking, and even physical pain. All you have to do is select categories from which you want to see messages. You can set and preview the message duration, number of repetitions, and font color and size, but not type. The 14-day trial will likely be long enough to determine if this unusual software actually works for you.
Natural Ambience turns your PC into a sound-therapy machine that recreates ten nature soundscapes with optional background music. It operates in the background allowing you to work while receiving the soothing benefits of nature's soundscapes. You also can include your own music files for background music. Nature soundscapes contain natural white noise that relaxes the brain and masks out unwanted background sounds, such as traffic, neighbors, and office noise.
This nifty program provides a calming atmosphere by providing 10 soothing nature-based background sounds you can play on your PC. Since it doesn't do anything else beyond its main job, Natural Ambience's interface is simple to understand, offering four-timer presets a volume slider, an Options icon, and a list of sound effects. Sounds include a waterfall, a thunderstorm, gently rolling waves, rain, and a heartbeat. We found all sound effects to be both realistic and relaxing, although the Indian-chant setting actually frayed our nerves instead of mellowing them. It would be nice if the application let you tweak the speed of the sound effects; for instance, we thought the water in the Tranquil Stream setting flowed too fast to be entirely calming. Clicking the Options button lets you enable the application's bundled background music or add your own music files. We suggest you avoid the former, which ruins the overall atmosphere with cheesy MIDI-based tunes. All told, Natural Ambience makes a good tool for the stressed-out and sleep-deprived, although filmmakers and musicians looking for basic sound effects might find it handy as well.
The relaxation software Spirit Of Forest creates the atmosphere of the deciduous forest, river, lake, or sea surf in your office or home. It can be used for relaxation therapy or just to avoid stress during your working day.
This therapeutic software relaxes you with soothing nature sounds and images, though we have a few complaints.
Preloaded with 10 relaxing nature themes, Spirit of Forest is designed to lull you into a state of tranquility through background sounds and slides. Its compact, skinnable interface lets you generate your own playlist and run it as long as you like. You'll hear calming sounds like ocean waves and pouring rain. The program also displays a slide show of beautiful nature scenes, but the pictures are shown in a small nonresizable window.
We would have liked a few more sound options and sceneries, and a larger viewing window. Its 17MB size isn't a great selling point, but Spirit of Forest could be a useful tool to help anyone unwind, especially since it doesn't cost anything.
Another Windows app for health& fitness is called IFAebook. IFAebook for the trainer or client is an e-book manual that includes information on nutrition, aerobics, weight training, and medical releases, as well as a muscle and exercise cross-reference guide. It features an anatomy chart and consent and physician's release forms for getting started. It also includes a new kickboxing section, updated health information, certification forms, and tests.
In today's world, we sit without moving for long hours in front of our computer screens. We hurt our eyes, shoulders, backs, and wrists. A short break every once in a while can reduce repetitive-stress injuries associated with computer usage. This free utility, which rests in the system tray, reminds us when to take a break, and it does so in style.
Some features include complete customization of work, snooze and break times; visual and/or audio notifications; choice of displaying timer, starting screen saver or locking the workstation when on break; a variety of tray icons for more discretion at work; statistics on time spent working, break time, total time and averages per hour; motivational pie-chart.
This extremely basic but free program helps you avoid repetitive-stress injuries at work by periodically reminding you to take a break. The tiny utility sits in your system tray and pops up a message box or flashes when it's time for you to step away from your computer. You also can set the program to remind you via one of the included sounds or your own WAV files. Although the easily configured interface can't be spruced up with skins or different color schemes, you can at least choose from several different system-tray icons. You simply enter the amount of time before your next break, then press Play. Once the time expires and you begin your break, you can view another timer that tells you how long before you need to get back to work. When you go back to work, the program will automatically begin ticking down to your next break. Though it doesn't do anything particularly special or boast any exciting bonus features, Scirocco Take a Break can be useful to anyone who regulary toils at a computer terminal.
